North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO]

Hey readers!  This blog is about an important alliance founded in the aftermath of World War 2 in order to secure peace in Europe to promote cooperation among its members and guard their freedom. What followed its establishment was the Cold War. Yes, you got that right! Today we will be talking about the North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO]. North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO] is a military alliance established by the North Atlantic Treaty [Washington Treaty] on 4 April, 1949 by the United States, Canada and several Western European nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union. It comprises of 30 member states and had 12 original members namely; USA, UK, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Italy, Iceland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway and Portugal. The United Nations

In April 1945, as the World War 2 was coming to an end, representatives of 50 war affected countries gathered in San Francisco. For about two months, the group worked towards drafting the United Nations Charter. The charter was then finally ratified by the members and the UN got off the ground officially on 24 October,1945. This was about the birth of one of the most prestigious organizations. But what exactly is the United Nations? What are it's objectives? How does it work?                            Well with this blog I'd try to answer all these queries! The United Nations is an international nonprofit organization which works with the objective to maintain peace around the globe, promote international security and develop friendly relations among nations.
